About the Role
OpenAI is seeking a Data Scientist to join our research team. You'll work on analyzing large-scale model performance data, designing evaluation frameworks, and driving insights that shape our product and research roadmap. This role sits at the intersection of research and engineering.
What You'll Do
- •Analyze model performance data to identify improvement opportunities
- •Design and implement evaluation frameworks for language models
- •Build dashboards and tools for internal stakeholders
- •Collaborate with researchers and engineers on data-driven decisions
- •Develop statistical models and run experiments
- •Present findings to leadership and cross-functional teams
What We're Looking For
- •5+ years of experience in data science or quantitative research
- •Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and statistical analysis
- •Experience with large-scale data processing (Spark, BigQuery, etc.)
- •Understanding of machine learning concepts
- •Excellent communication and data storytelling skills
- •PhD or MS in a quantitative field preferred
